We evaluate documented fit for a workload, total cost and administration requirements. Unless a page explicitly supplies a test record, our analysis is based on official public information.
Our evaluation checklist
| Dimension | What we verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Workload fit | Application architecture, resource needs, concurrency and management scope | A plan must fit the task and the operator |
| Compute | vCPU class, RAM, storage type and published limits | Counts alone do not establish performance |
| Total cost | Currency, billing, tax, IPv4, backups, storage, transfer and support | The VM price is not the full bill |
| Regions | Official locations and plan-specific availability | A region listing does not guarantee capacity |
| Recovery | Backup scope, retention, restore limitations and separate data volumes | A backup checkbox is not a recovery test |
| Support | Published channels and scope | Infrastructure support may exclude your application |
Facts and judgments
Plan details are sourced facts. Statements such as “better for a developer who needs managed databases” are editorial judgments tied to a stated requirement. We avoid numerical ratings that imply precision unsupported by evidence.
What a hands-on test would require
A reproducible report must record the purchased plan, region, operating system, software versions, measurement tools, time period, workload, repeated results and limitations. A short benchmark cannot establish long-term uptime or the experience of every customer.
Before you purchase
Confirm the exact plan and region in the provider’s current order form. Budget for recovery, administration and any add-ons. Read the service and refund terms directly.
